certification

As part of our charge to create a fun, safe environment, and reduce bullying, Special Hoops workers, volunteers, athletes, coaches, and mental health professionals undergo an in-house certification process following our proprietary anti-bullying curriculum prior to working with Special Hoops participants. 

This is done to ensure they are aware of the unique needs of our participants and how to safely guide them through the tournament process. 

Workers and volunteers include AAU youth basketball players and coaches, and mental health professionals who have  experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
